No Theory.
Only Earned Experience.

Matt Chick started as a plumbing apprentice in 1998 and worked every rung — journeyman, foreman, field superintendent — before becoming Vice President of Field Operations at QuesTec Mechanical.

That path demanded discipline under pressure, clear decisions in the field, and the ability to lead men across every generation. Now, through Blue Collar Coaching LLC, Matt brings that same hard-won wisdom into a practice built for men ready to do serious work on their lives.

A lot of men are carrying more than they let on — stress at work, tension at home, emotions they don't have language for, and conversations they've been avoiding for years. Blue Collar Coaching creates a space where men can talk through what's actually going on, get honest about where they're stuck, and learn how to navigate the hard conversations that most people never have. You don't have to have it all figured out to show up here. You just have to be willing to do the work.

Matt also holds a real estate license and serves as the primary instructor for QuesTec's DOL-registered four-year apprenticeship program. Matt was the first student to attend that program.

The Methods
Behind the Work

Matt's coaching is grounded in three formal disciplines — each adding a distinct layer to how he works.

Landmark

Landmark Forum

One of the most widely recognized personal development programs in the world. Landmark helps people identify and break through invisible barriers — unexamined assumptions and self-limiting narratives that silently shape every outcome in life. Matt has completed the curriculum.

Trained
True Face

True Face

A character-based leadership framework centered on authenticity, integrity, and identity. Rather than teaching techniques, True Face works at the root — who you actually are when no one is watching. Matt's certification equips him to help men align their inner values with their outward actions, building trust in every role.

Executive Re-Invention · Tracy Goss

Executive Re-Invention

Based on Tracy Goss's landmark book The Last Word on Power — required reading at Harvard Business Review and Stanford School of Business — this program takes leaders through seven specific transformations: redefining your relationship with the past, the future, risk, success, what's possible, action, and being extraordinary. The core insight is that the very "winning strategy" that made you successful can become the ceiling that limits what's next. Matt trained in this methodology to help men break through that ceiling and lead at a level they previously thought impossible.

What We Work On

Seven Pillars of
a Stronger Life

I

Discipline

Build systems that hold — in your body, your routines, and your commitments — so you show up fully regardless of how you feel.

II

Decision-Making

Learn to cut through noise, weigh what matters, and make clear calls under pressure — without second-guessing yourself into paralysis.

III

Stress Management

Identify your real stress drivers — not the surface ones — and develop tools that keep you clear-headed when the stakes are high.

IV

Situational Awareness

Read the room — at home, at work, in the field. Know what's coming before it arrives and position yourself to be proactive rather than reactive.

V

Pattern Recognition

Spot the cycles and habits holding you back. Once you can see the pattern, you can break it — or use it to your advantage.

VI

Leadership

Whether you lead a crew, a household, or just yourself — learn what it actually takes to navigate everyday stress and earn the trust of the people around you.

VII

Generational Gap Awareness

Bridge the gap between experience and the new generation. Communicate and connect across generations to work together for a common goal and build on each other's strengths and weaknesses.

Your Body Is
Your First Job Site

This isn't about what you look like — it's about how you feel, how you function, and how you show up for the people counting on you. Physical wellness is part of the whole picture. Whether you're just getting started or trying to get back on track, the goal is simple: build habits that support you, not punish you. Small steps in the right direction, done consistently, add up to real wins.

Discipline Over Motivation

Motivation is weather — it changes daily. Discipline is infrastructure we can build. We can build a physical routine around your real life: early starts, long days, physical work already on your plate. No perfect conditions required.

Consistency as the Standard

The man who trains four days a week for two years beats the man who trains every day for two months and burns out. We establish a sustainable physical baseline — strength, movement, endurance — and hold you to it week after week. Small actions, compounded wins.

Physical Discipline Transfers

When you build the habit of doing hard physical things on purpose, that capacity bleeds into every other area of your life. Men who train consistently make better decisions under pressure, manage stress more effectively, and carry themselves differently. The gym is a classroom — and it could help you more mentally than physically.
